Places to Visit / Alton Towers
One of the most famous and most visited attractions is a hop over the Derbyshire county border in Staffordshire. If you're looking for the perfect, fun day out for you and your family then this is it.
Rides and grounds Experience the white knuckle rides such as the 'Rita - Queen of Speed' 0 - 100 in 2.5 seconds. Then there's 'Air', you don't sit or stand, you FLOAT. Also in the theme park it features its very own gardens which in the summer provide a beautiful walk around the grounds.
Opening hours and prices Alton Towers is open from 17th March 2007. The theme park opens from 9.30am. Rides open from 10am. Closing times vary from 5pm onwards depending on the time of year. The busy periods at Alton Towers is usually in the summer holidays period, July - September, so make sure you give yourself the whole day there to avoid disappointment.

Hotels and spa Besides the theme park, Alton Towers also have two hotels set in 500 acres of countryside. The hotels, Alton Towers Hotel and Splash Park Hotel, are perfect after a long day at the theme park and residents have the opportunity to relax in the spa, situated right next door.
