Camping in Derbyshire / Barn Farm

Barn Farm is a traditional Derbyshire gritstone stock farm dating back to the 1500's. Barn Farm based in Birchover overlooks the beautiful Derwent Valley.

The farm itself is based over 300 acres of land and attracts wildlife including badgers, rare Black Fallow deer and boasts over 60 species of birds such as Nuthatch and Dippers.

Located 7 miles south of Bakewell and three miles west of Matlock, Barn Farm is set perfectly to access some of Derbyshire’s main tourist attractions.

The Limestone Way passes close to the farm, which provides access to four major footpaths. Bordering the farm is Stanton Moor with its Arbor Low Stone Circle and Gib Hill, which offer spectacular views across to the North, East and West. This also provides well-maintained footpaths and walking routes throughout the area. A little farther away is the river Lathkill, this leading to a pleasant walk through the stunning Lathkill Dale.

Robin Hood's Stride and Catcliffe Rocks are just two of the many different climbing areas. There are also plenty of superb sports facilities near Birchover such as fishing, riding and watersports.

Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are close by. Matlock Bath provides the perfect day out with the family with various places to visit such as Gullivers Kingdom and the Heights of Abraham.
