The Silk Mill Museum occupies the site of the world's oldest factories, built by George Sorocold in 1702. Exhibits include the development of Rolls-Royce aero engines and the railway industry. The Power Gallery covers the story of motive power.

A magnificent early-18th-century, classical church on the site of an earlier Saxon building, and thought to be founded circa 943 AD. The 212ft tower is open for visitors to climb the 189 steps to the top on certain days for a splendid view of the city of Derby.
