What information is collected, and how is it used?

1. When you use the "contact us" mechanism on the website (through the "contact us" form), you will be providing us primarily with your name, phone number, and e-mail address. Within the "contact us" form, you will have the opportunity to be added to our mailing list by checking the "add me to your mailing list" checkbox. If you do not check this box, then your information will not be used to make any contact, other than to reply to your initial contact.
2. If you register a business on Visit Derbyshire, you will be providing us with a number of details relating to your business (see the business registration form). This information is required to enable us to process any requirement that you may have with regard to your listing on the site, and to respond to any queries that you may have. It should be noted, however, that by registering under this section, you are agreeing to our terms and conditions. These are readily available for your inspection elsewhere on the website.
3. Should you be entering any competition that we may run on the site, the information set out in point 1 above will be required in the event that you are classified a winner, and we have to notify you of this fact.
4. If you subscribe to our mailing list, you will be eligible to receive occasional e-mails (not more than 1 a week) about Visit Derbyshire, local events, special offers, or any other issues relating to the web site or Derbyshire generally. Should you decide at some point in the future that you no longer wish to remain on our mailing list, please inform us through the e-mail address unsubscribe@visitderbyshire.co.uk.
5. Should you decide to use the "Tell a Friend" feature on the site, you are asked to enter your name, your e-mail address, plus the name and e-mail address of your friend, plus the relevant message. This information is required for us to be able to properly send the 'tell a friend' e-mail to that person. That task is carried out immediately. Please note that all information provided for the purpose of this function will not be stored by us for any future use.
