About Marston-on-Dove

A small village close to Tutbury. It was originally owned by the monks at Tutbury Abbey at Domesday, but was back under the ownership of Henry de Ferres with the onset of Norman rule.

The 13th century Church of St Mary has the oldest bell in Derbyshire, that was cast in 1366 and is inscribed with the words ‘Hail Mary’.
