Close to the town of Burton upon Trent, this small village was once the property of Henry de Ferrers before being passed over to Norman de Solney some time around the 11th century. There are some rather interesting buildings including Beehive Cottage, a hexagonally shaped brick cottage, and Bladen Castle, a red brick building with a frontage masquerading as a castle.
