A small village in the Peak District, consisting mostly of residential cottages and farms. The area was once a busy lead mining centre, and had a history of rival mining gangs competing for the best veins of lead. The Magpie mine, now in the hands of the Peak District Historical Society, is one of the most complete and best lead mines around.
