Grendon Guest House is a top quality five star bed and breakfast which offers the very best of all elements that make for a memorable visit including fine spacious ensuite double bed/sitting rooms with an abundance of homely touches, welcoming and hospitable in all seasons and AA award winning Breakfasts and Dinners.

The 1 acre gardens, which guests are welcome to discover and enjoy, overlook the Cavendish golf course with distant views to the Peak District hills. It is essentially a family home which your hosts, Colin and Hilary Parker feel privileged to share with you, we place great emphasis on guest care and comfort in a welcoming environment.

Facilities:

We have 6 types of bedroom available for our guests. You can choose from:

The Duchess Suite. This bedroom has a supremely comfortable 5 ft mattress with a cloud like duvet for warmth without weight, a spacious seating area, a shower room and a bathroom. Perfect for sharing with another family member using the Single bedroom and its partial ensuite for sleeping. Please see tariff section for a special threesome price.

The Devonshire room has a very comfortable 5 ft bed, windows on two aspects, armchairs and a spacious walk in shower ensuite.

The Cavendish room is principly a twin room, but can be a 6 foot double when not required with 2 beds. There is a spacious shower room and walk in wardrobe.

Serpentine is a lovely spacious room, more cottagey in appearance than our other rooms with pine furnishings, a very comfortable 5ft bed, settee, spacious ensuite with "Mira" shower.

Single room has an en-suite wc and room washbasin, the room may be booked as part of a 3 person booking ie a Triple with the Duchess suite, which enables access to shower/bath facility without entering the Duchess bedroom. Additionally 2 travelling companions who prefer not to sleep together but are happy to share the shower facility of a double or single ensuite room may wish to consider this option. From June to September we cannot accept a single traveller booking for this room except in the preceeding 24 hours.

New for 2007 is a Single ensuite, this is a large sunny room with a 4'6 bed and ensuite bath with hand shower, for the lone traveller looking for space and quality without a double room price tag.

All bedrooms have ample radiators for a cosy stay, fitted carpets, tea/coffee making facilities, TV's, some have DVD's, hairdryers, bedroom 'browsers' to help plan your excursions, books and magazines. An 'in house' laundry service is available for those who wish, and iron and ironing board for those who need them.

We also have free wireless broadband internet access available to guests.

Click here for our 2007 price list. Our room prices range from £28 (single) through to £100 (triple suite) in the low/mid season to £35 to £115 (triple suite) at all other times. We also have special offers low/mid season.

Attractions:

Buxton is a wonderful spa town set in the breathtaking surroundings of the Derbyshire Peak District. The area is famous for offering gentle and more challenging walks, rock climbing, hang-gliding, pot holeing and a lot more. There are numerous stately homes nearby to visit including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Eyam Hall, Hardwick Hall and Kedleston Hall.

Buxton is home to Poole's Cavern & Buxton Country Park whose magnificent natural cavern features spectacular stalactites and crystal formations. Buxton Opera House is a gorgeous Edwardian building well worth a visit just to enjoy the architecture. It also has a varied programme of performances throughout the year - ranging from Shakespeare to stand-up comedians, from Opera to folk groups.

Whilst at the Buxton Museum & Art Gallery you can explore the Wonders of the Peak, discovering the geology, archaeology and history of the Peak District through seven time zones.
