Swanwick

About Swanwick

A large and lively village between the Derbyshire towns of Ripley and Alfreton, Swanwick grew as coal mining and also a large hosiery manufacturing industry, were to flourish in the region in the 19th century.

Swanwick Hall was once the home of the Wood family, local landowners in the area, but was opened as a school in 1922.
