About Cromford Open Gardens

The Annual Open Gardens in Cromford Village. Cromford spans limestone, shale and gritstone soils with gardens from 300 ft to 600 ft above sea level (minibus lifts up and down).

Many gardens are eccentric or precipitous or both, but others easier of access and enjoying wide scenic vews or offering access to the quiet secret nooks and wide open spaces hidden behind Cromford's stony cottage facades.

The cost is £5 per adult, accompanied children or teenagers free. We recommend parking at or near Cromford Meadows DE4 3RQ or you can bus on this Sunday directly from Matlock, Bakewell, Buxton, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Belper or Derby or catch a direct train from Derby, Nottingam, Newark or stations on the line.

Tickets will be issued in the Market Place, DE4 3RE, or, if you start from the top of the village, in Barnwell Lane gardens. Every garden displays a brightlty coloured bird and balloons. Refreshments in some gardens or at village hostelries and cafes.
