Morley Open Gardens

Morley Open Gardens is an opportunity to explore an attractive rural village by visiting nearly 30 gardens which are open for visitors for the weekend.

About Morley Open Gardens

Morley is a rural parish set on the sandstone plateau just north of Derby. It consists of a number of scattered settlements connected by lanes and field footpaths.

Now in our fifth year, a variety of large and small gardens, allotments and a flower farm will be open to the public, some with historical interest, two with alpacas, and one with a miniature railway. All will be of interest to the garden lover. A quarter of the gardens are new to our event this year.

Being a scattered rural village, there is the potential for keen walkers to use the field paths to move between the different settlements, but many visitors will prefer to drive, given the lack of pavements on our lanes.

The beautiful St. Matthews Church and its churchyard and adjacent mausoleum will also be open for visitors. Refreshments will be available in a number of gardens throughout the village.

Proceeds in aid of St. Matthews Church.

There will be plants for sale in a number of gardens.
